My Services

Maternity Care with a Holistic Approach.

The Initial Meeting

If you feel I might be the doula for you and want to find out more, then please call me so that we can arrange a mutual time to get to know one another, either online or preferably in person.   It is so important that you have a compatible companion. Therefore, I always offer the first non-binding meeting, free of charge.

Please allow 45-60 minutes for this first meeting, which is a great opportunity to check that the chemistry between us clicks into place, and to go over any questions we might have for one another.  This makes it much easier for us both to decide whether I am the right doula for you!

The Doula Essentials

Before the Birth

A Minimum of Two Further Meetings in Person during Pregnancy.

As your doula, I will want you to feel that you are being well looked after and therefore, there will be plenty of time to address all your concerns and wishes. The minimum of two meetings give us the opportunity to discuss any questions during your pregnancy and to help you prepare as your pregnancy progresses.

Naturally, there is the chance to have additional meetings, in person, online and phone calls too - depending on your needs and also at what point during your pregnancy I become your companion. My aim is to help you relax and feel truly supported, so you can really enjoy this special time and have a sense of well being as your due date approaches. After all, a doula should make a difference.

The First Meeting

This is a great opportunity to cover your questions, wishes or concerns you might have and to see how I might be able to support you in addressing them.  I will work with you to help you get the answers you are looking for and to help you prepare as your pregnancy progresses.

The Second Meeting

Here we can discuss any new developments, ideas or answer questions which crop up as the birth approaches. We can also continue to plan how I will be helping you when you are in labour. It is an exciting and special time in your life,  and I look forward to working with you and supporting you as your birth draws nearer.

Time of Birth

On-Call Service

As your due date draws closer, I want you to feel secure and happy. During a period of four weeks (generally stretching two weeks either side of your due date) I will be ‘On-Call’ and available for you to contact me at any time, seven days a week.  My aim is to help you feel secure and positive as you concentrate and focus on the birth of your baby. I am there to offer my practical, emotional and physical support and at any point.

Labour Begins

As your doula, I will support you in a discreet, yet mindful manner.  I can help communicate your wishes to hospital staff, limit any distractions and simply be there to help with the little things, so you can completely focus on yourself. I am there to support you and your partner through the whole of your labour. Once the baby has been safely delivered, it will be time for me to leave and we shall be in contact again during the days thereafter.

After the Birth

Two Follow-Up Visits

In the days after the birth, we can arrange when the next meetings should be. The first visit can be at the hospital or after you have returned home. The second visit we can schedule to follow shortly thereafter.  This gives us the opportunity to address anything you might want to talk about at a time which suits you best.

Additional Postnatal Support

If you decide you need a little extra practical support once you are back home, I am happy to offer a few hours of additional postnatal support during the first month after the birth (two hours per visit).   A small amount of help can make a big difference.

For further information, please refer to the “Little Extras” page.

My Bespoke Arrangement

This enables you to tailor-make the arrangement we agree upon to suit your needs. If this is not your first child, you might feel that two prenatal personal meetings might not be needed. Or perhaps, you might feel there is no need for me to visit you in hospital after the birth?

It is with this in mind that I have developed a bespoke service which allows you to individualise the support I offer. Up to two meetings (one prenatal, and/or the hospital visit) can be transferred to the postpartum period at your home.  This offers a maximum of four hours postpartum help included in our overall arrangement, which could be very appealing and a real advantage for many families.

Please get in contact with me to find out more about my bespoke arrangement.

Could I be Your Doula?

Please feel free to contact me on a non-binding basis to discuss how I can help you personally.
